How shall my people prepare?

This is the fourth post in a series of posts about the revelation “The Great Turning Point for Humanity.” This is a small part of the New Message from God. The first post is here. The previous post is here.

What have we seen so far? Humanity faces unprecedented change. Declining resources, disrupted climate, environmental degradation and extraterrestrial intervention. Humanity is unprepared for these changes. But there is a New Message from God in the world, to help humanity rise to the occasion.

How shall my people prepare?

The following is the sixteenth paragraph of this teaching. I will add my experience of each paragraph in brackets.

God’s New Revelation for the world is providing everything you will need to know and everything you will need to do, within yourself and in your relationships with others. For this must happen at the level of the individual. Whole nations cannot prepare yet. It begins with individuals, preparing individually and together.

[We live in a world where doom-mongering is big business. Discerning the real warning from the false warnings requires wisdom. I can imagine people in the future asking me, “Douglas, are you really serious about this?” I must have this seriousness within myself. The New Message from God can help me have the strength of character I need.]

But who would know how to do this? No one knows how to prepare for life in the universe as it really is. No one even knows what is there. Your movies and your fiction can give you no real idea of this.

[There are many people in my world who, for one reason or another, disbelieve the very existence of extraterrestrial life. Those who believe imagine that life in the universe is like this movie, or that fiction. An argument is being made for the necessity of the New Message from God as humanity’s roadmap for the future.]

Who can prepare you for a new world reality? You have a few solutions, but you will need many more. Who has the courage to build a shelter far before the storm comes? Who has the foresight to do what must be done today before the waters rise and the lands dry out? You have this power within you, but it is unknown to you yet.

[The phrase “new world reality” has been mentioned in other places in the New Message from God. The New Message Community contemplated this phrase at the 2018 Encampment. There are a number of places in the New Message from God where it is mentioned that humanity needs “a thousand solutions.” Who has the courage, who has the foresight? The man or woman of Knowledge. I sign myself a candidate for the position “man of Knowledge.” This is what they mean by the necessity of individual preparation.]

We are here to prepare you for the great change that is coming to the world, the great change that will alter human civilization, for better or worse—permanently, from this time onward, as if you have crossed an invisible line that changes everything.

[Who is this “We”? The Angelic Assembly that watches over humanity. When did we cross the threshold? When a gas tank was filled, when some waste was dumped in a river. It is pointless to ask who. But it has become known that we have crossed the threshold.]

You cannot prepare yourself for this. Even if people could see and feel it significantly, they would be in disagreement about what it is and what it means and how it will happen and what must be done.

[I believe people see and feel certain aspects of the situation. They are offering various solutions and arguing for their adoption. But what if they aren’t adopted? What if they are adopted, but fail?]

Regarding your entrance into a Greater Community of life in the universe, no one on Earth knows how to prepare for this. Only God can provide this. And those few races in your vicinity of space who are free have played an important role in helping you, but they will not intervene. They can only share their wisdom with you, which they have done.

[I believe they’ve said that before. I feel like some people will read the part about “those few races” and harbor a hope for rescue. But this is inconsistent with their goal of freedom for humanity. In this case, “free” means “Sustainably self-sufficient and discreet.” The New Message from God refers to certain individuals of these races as “The Allies of Humanity.” They have provided four books of briefings through Marshall Vian Summers. Here is a review of the first one.

How shall my people prepare? It is my hope to be a man of Knowledge, this greater courage, this greater foresight. It is my hope that the New Message from God will find its place in the heart of the human family.]

A challenge from which there is no escape

What have we seen so far? Humanity faces great environmental change as a result of its actions. Humanity faces a challenge to its freedom from extraterrestrial intervention. But God has spoken again, to provide humanity with a way of meeting these great challenges. Will humanity respond? Will humanity prepare?

A challenge from which there is no escape

The following is the eleventh paragraph of this teaching. I will add my experience of each paragraph in brackets.

For God would only speak again if this were the case for the whole human family. Enough has been provided over the centuries to uplift human ethics and morality, even though these things are largely neglected or avoided in the world today.

[The “case” refers to the previous sentence. “What is coming is a great challenge, an ordeal, a difficult road ahead.” Loving your neighbor as yourself solves a lot of problems. But we seem to need more than this to successfully meet what we are facing.]

There must be a great danger, a great difficulty, but also a great opportunity. For what can unite a fractured humanity—contentious with itself, filled with revenge and anger and the need or desire to conquer others? What could overcome this—which seems so endemic in the world today, and growing worse by the day it seems—but a great challenge for all who dwell here, a challenge that will affect everyone, a challenge from which there is no escape? There is only preparation and rising to meet a great set of circumstances.

[I recall Ronald Reagan’s speech to the UN in 1987. He said ““I occasionally think how quickly our differences worldwide would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world. And yet, I ask you, is not an alien force already among us? What could be more alien to the universal aspirations of our peoples than war and the threat of war?” Will humanity rise to the occasion?]

This is not a time to retreat and work on your own spiritual understanding, or to run away from the world and hide somewhere, or to think that everything is over or that everything is just beginning. It is a continuation, you see, for humanity, over the past few centuries in particular, has affected the world in so many ways, degraded the world in so many ways, has overexploited the world.

[Again, we don’t need your enlightenment. We face a challenge from which there is no escape. We need your determination and adaptability. We need your active participation on behalf of human survival and freedom. When I read “past few centuries in particular,” I think of the Industrial Revolution.]

This is what has brought Intervention from beyond, for this world is valued by others who have been watching for a very long time. They seek to plant themselves here, secretly. They are not military, so they have no great show of force, but they are very persuasive. And at times like this when people become disoriented, or are frightened or anxious, or live with growing anxiety, this persuasion can become very strong—turning the human mind, turning people against their own institutions and leaders, turning people to the Intervention itself.

[To me, it is as if humanity is an adolescent race, heir to a great treasure of Earth and its resources. But unscrupulous parties sometimes separate adolescents from their inheritances. David Jacobs has documented this secret planting.]

To have any sense of what is occurring and what is coming, you must have the courage to face certain things that perhaps far exceed what you even thought was possible. You must be able to respond. You must be responsible.

[It takes a certain mental and emotional preparation to face these things. It is important to have a strategy for confronting fear. We have a program of mental and emotional preparation. It’s called Steps to Knowledge. We face a challenge from which there is no escape. But we do not face it empty-handed.]

We need your determination and adaptability

What have we seen so far? Humanity is on the brink of great change. We stand on the threshold of space. We face intervention from space. We face the consequences of our resource consumption and environmental destruction. But God has spoken again to prepare humanity for these great challenges.

We need your determination and adaptability

The following is the sixth paragraph of this teaching. I will add my experience of each paragraph in brackets.

This next decade will be a great turning point for humanity, as this great environmental change begins to alter the face of the world, as humanity faces a growing presence in the world from those beyond who would seek to use this world for their own purposes. They are not here to destroy you but to use you, seeing you as part of the resource of the world.

[More detail will be given about the forthcoming great environmental change. The word “Intervention” mentioned earlier could be thought of as “a growing presence…for their own purposes.” There are those who consider technically advanced races to be spiritually advanced as well. But how do they know this? I consider the word “use” to mean “enslave and exploit,” in the same way we treat agricultural animals.]

Feeling this great turning point, some people will think it is the end—it is the end of humanity, it is the end of time, or it is the end of human civilization. And some people think it is a glorious beginning, a great new age for humanity of enlightenment and unity, of spirituality.

[It could be the end of humanity. It might be the end of human freedom. Will humanity respond to the warnings and prepare? Compared to all of time, human existence is a blink. And yet, there are those who ascribe cosmic consequences to human events. The people who think the great turning point is a glorious beginning are going to experience a lot of trouble.]

But who can face the reality with the courage and the power of Knowledge that God has placed within each person? Yet this Knowledge is unknown in the world, except by a few.

[We need you to find the deeper spiritual intelligence that God has placed within you. We call it Knowledge. When it is followed, disaster is averted. We have a path of practice to reach it called Steps to Knowledge. It has been in the world since 1989. It is true that Knowledge is unknown in the world, except by a few. This is an effort to remedy that.]

So they [people] fail to respond. They fail to prepare. They fail to recognize the growing signs of the world. They remain either oppressed in their nations where there is poverty or religious or political oppression, or they remain subsumed in their own personal preoccupations and desires and difficulties, heedless, unaware that their lives are about to change beyond their reckoning.

[I can imagine some people reading this and thinking, “It won’t be as bad for my nation as it will be for that other nation.” But any nation that doesn’t respond and prepare will face great difficulty. Nature is merciless to the unprepared.]

There are those who feel this great change, but are too afraid to face it. So they turn away, or they try to give it meaning and understanding, trying to incorporate it into their desires and their understanding of the world, when in fact the great change is something far beyond their capabilities in this regard.

[Why are they too afraid to face it? Because they identify with their body and mind, their individuality, instead of Knowledge. They ask “What can one person do?” But a person of Knowledge can do something.]

Many people pray for peace and equanimity at this time. Some even seek for what they call enlightenment, but this is not preparation for what is coming. What is coming is a great challenge, an ordeal, a difficult road ahead.

[We don’t need your enlightenment. We need your determination and adaptability. Your determination to rise to the occasion. Humanity needs your strong contribution to get through the ordeal.]

A God Who Speaks Again At The Right Time

A god who speaks again at the right time

The writings of the Hebrew prophet Jeremiah (probably after 650 – c. 570 BC) appear in both the Jewish and Christian scriptures. His prophecies were often directed towards particular people. But there is a particular prophecy in Jeremiah 31 addressed to the people of Israel and the people of Judah.

“The days are coming,” declares the Lord,
    “when I will make a new covenant
with the people of Israel
    and with the people of Judah.
It will not be like the covenant
    I made with their ancestors
when I took them by the hand
    to lead them out of Egypt,
because they broke my covenant,
    though I was a husband to them,]”
declares the Lord.
“This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel
    after that time,” declares the Lord.
“I will put my law in their minds
    and write it on their hearts.
I will be their God,
    and they will be my people.
No longer will they teach their neighbor,
    or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’
because they will all know me,
    from the least of them to the greatest,”
declares the Lord.
“For I will forgive their wickedness
    and will remember their sins no more.”
(Jeremiah 31:31-34, New International Version)

A God who speaks again at the right time

No declaration was made as to when this would happen, only that it would happen. But hundreds of years later, the author of the letter to the Hebrews declared that this very thing had happened. How had this happened? In the teachings and demonstrations of Jesus. The author describes this further in Hebrews 8.

The author of the letter to the Hebrews forthrightly declared that God had spoken again in the life and work of Jesus:

In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. (Hebrews 1:1-2, New International Version)

But to me, the author is saying even more. The author is saying that in the prophesy of Jeremiah, God is promising to speak again at the right time. Furthermore, in the person and work of Jesus, God is fulfilling the promises made in Jeremiah 31. God is demonstrating speaking again at the right time. The God of the Bible is a god who speaks again at the right time.

The revelation “The Great Turning Point for Humanity” declares:

At this great turning point, Heaven has sent a New Revelation into the world, a Revelation unlike anything that has been given to the world since the days of Muhammad. For these Revelations are only given at great turning points, representing a response to a great need and a great opportunity to uplift humanity, to prepare it for its next great stage of development.

We face our greatest challenge now. But God has spoken again. Because God is a god who speaks again at the right time.

We face our greatest challenge now

Something happened recently that is not well-known outside of the community of the New Message from God. On the last day of the previous decade, Marshall Vian Summers received a revelation, “The Great Turning Point for Humanity.” It is the most recent revelation of the New Message from God. Marshall shares his experience of receiving this revelation here [registration required]. The Society shared this revelation with the New Message community in January of 2020, and January of 2021.

This revelation is the first to be received on the eve of a new decade. This teaching mentions this decade on multiple occasions. I consider this to be relatively rare. I therefore consider this to be a particularly important teaching. I therefore plan to write a series of blog posts about this teaching. In each blog post, I will share a few of the paragraphs of the revelation, along with my experience of each paragraph. I will put my experience of each paragraph in brackets.

We face our greatest challenge now

At this great turning point, you stand at the threshold of great change in the world, greater than you yet realize, a greater change than has happened at any time in human history.

[Students of the New Message have been told this on many occasions, but to me, it is is as if we need to hear it yet again.]

For you stand at the threshold of a universe full of intelligent life. An Intervention from this universe has begun. And you face a new world reality, for humanity has changed the world in so many ways, and now it is changing on its own, in ways that you cannot yet control or predict.

[The book Life in the Universe speaks of this. The purpose of the Intervention is to gain control over Earth’s resources (including humanity). The new world reality is a reality of declining resources, affected climate, and environmental degradation.”]

At this great turning point, Heaven has sent a New Revelation into the world, a Revelation unlike anything that has been given to the world since the days of Muhammad. For these Revelations are only given at great turning points, representing a response to a great need and a great opportunity to uplift humanity, to prepare it for its next great stage of development.

[This New Revelation is the New Message from God. The New Message considers Jesus, Buddha and Mohammed as Messengers of the past. I make no claim to know how the days of these messengers were great turning points. But humanity faces a great turning point now.]

Those who are sensitive, those who are looking, those who are listening can feel the building of this power, this movement of life, this great change. And perhaps they have also been stirred, for God has been stirring people to prepare for these times, the great times of Revelation.

[We face our greatest challenge now. Is humanity’s pattern of resource consumption and environmental destruction sustainable? If not, when will humanity hit the wall? Many people have prayed for God to help a divided humanity.]

For why would God speak again to the world unless there was a great need—so great that the previous Revelations could not really address it completely or adequately, so great that God must speak again, despite all the denial and belief that this could happen? But only God knows when God will speak, and no one has the authority to proclaim this cannot be.

[Many Christians might think of Hebrews 1:1-2 (NIV) “In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.” Many Muslims might think of Surah 33:40 (Yusuf Ali translation) “Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Messenger of Allah, and the Seal of the Prophets: and Allah has full knowledge of all things.” But I dare to declare that God has spoken again.]

I have reached a stopping point. I will write more soon. But already it has been declared that God has spoken again, because our world is in great need. We face our greatest challenge now.
