A sacred life is one of purpose, meaning and direction.
I wish to live a sacred life, a life of purpose, meaning and direction. The New Message from God has fallen on my ears and eyes, has entered my heart, and has touched a deep chord of recognition in my soul, so I am one of those responsible for caring for it and sharing it. I pass it on with no strings attached. I am not to teach it, explain it, add to it or take away from it, I am not to falsely represent it, I am only to pass it on in the pure form in which it was given.
The New Message from God has found me, so now what am I to do? I cannot run away, I cannot pretend I do not know anything about it, I cannot stick my head in the sand like an ostrich. The Revelation is in the world and I have found it, or rather it has found me. And not only has it found me, it has awoken some long forgotten memory in me, kindled some recognition and a deep sense of knowing that this is true. It has opened up an awareness and is beckoning me to explore further.
There is New Message Revelation called “The Sacred Life.” It says:
“You are meant to live a sacred life—a life of purpose, meaning and direction. You have been sent into the world for a purpose. This purpose requires you to enter a new kind of life experience—a different state of mind, a different awareness of yourself and others and a different relationship with the world itself.”
You are meant to life a sacred life.
But what does “sacred” mean in this context? There is a dictionary definition that fits my notion of “sacred.” It says: “reverentially devoted to some person, purpose, or object,” and gives the following example: “a morning hour sacred to study.” I am reverentially devoted to reclaiming Knowledge and studying the Steps to Knowledge. These practices fill my life with purpose, meaning and direction. So by devoting my life to this, I can say that I am living a sacred life.
One of the Revelations in the book, which is not just another book, God Has Spoken Again is “The Calling.”
It begins with:
“To live in a time of Revelation and to be presented with this Revelation is a monumental event. So great it will be that it will change your life and your thinking, your perception and your understanding of yourself, the world and your destiny. Even if you refuse the New Message and dispute it, it will still change your life.”
I am free to reject and dispute what is being offered, but if the Message has touched my ears, eyes, and heart, would it not be very foolish to do this? I can doubt, speculate, misinterpret and question, but this does not change the underlying truth. I cannot deny this monumental event and cannot deny the change it has made in my thinking and my perception, in my understanding of myself and the world around me, in the way I see my destiny. This is something that abides with me despite the disgruntled rumbling that may go on in my mind.
You are meant to live a sacred life.
Further on, the Revelation says:
“Should you study it and read it and follow its direction, you will begin to hear things and see things that you did not hear and see before. You will have a greater vision and a more encompassing understanding, an understanding that is not merely self-serving and self-gratifying, but something that can face reality and that can appreciate your being in the world at this time.”
So when all is said and done, I am drawn to study, drawn to follow the Message’s direction. And I am beginning to see things and hear things I have not seen or heard before. My vision is expanding and embracing a greater understanding. I am beginning to live a sacred life of purpose, meaning and direction.
